What is a safe space?

Gilbert is shy and gentle. He notices when someone needs comfort, and his caring heart makes everyone feel safe and welcome.

Hello friends, it’s Gilbert here. I’m a little shy, but I know care makes a big difference. A safe space is a place where people feel welcome, respected, and free to be themselves.

In a safe space, kindness is always present and judgment has no place. No one has to hide who they are.

We can all help create safe spaces. Care shows up when we listen with patience, use gentle words, support our friends, and learn from one another. Small acts of care make the world softer and kinder.

With care,

Gilbert
